Last night we went out to a favourite restaurant, The Cowshed, on the outskirts of Banchory here where we are staying in Aberdeenshire. It serves simple, well-cooked meals from a varied and interesting menu, but most of all, it has a wonderful view of the fields and hills from its restaurant windows.
On a warm summer’s evening, it’s unbeatable for pleasurable viewing while eating.
Sounds like an excellent holiday!
ReplyDeleteIt has been ... the weather has been gently warm rather than stiflingly hot. Just one weekend was unkind with torrential rain but now we are seeling the benefits as everywhere is greening up beautifully. We’ve visited favourite haunts and eaten far too well! We return south on Tuesday and will no doubt find everything parched and brown.
DeleteLooks lovely - once I got to the Banchory one. Your link took me to the Cowshed restaurant in Staffordshire. Your Cowshed is here: https://www.cowshedrestaurantbanchory.co.uk/
ReplyDeleteI shall certainly keep it in mind for when we are next up there.
Very many thanks for being more awake than I am! Next time I make a link I will check before publishing.
DeleteThe restaurant has a very pleasant modern feel with many of the tables in a large conservatory style extension. In spring, summer and autumn when we’ve visited, the views from it are lovely.
