We always get excited when it snows significantly here in southern England. It happens rarely and settles and lies even less frequently.
The forecast last night had suggested we would be south of the snow zone as we so often are but this morning, much to our surprise, we woke up to this ...
... and it's been snowing gently almost all day. A few centimeters are now lying and it will freeze hard tonight. Photos tomorrow when sun is predicted should be even more rewarding.

Lucky you! Since our surprise early snow the first week in November, we've seen no more, except fresh snow up on the surrounding mountaintops. Even places in the southeast (USA) got measurable snow the last few days, places that rarely get snow. We who are often snowbound this time of year are scratching our heads but not complaining, as we know we will eventually see what you are seeing, and more... :-)
ReplyDeleteMuch of central England had significant snowfall on Sunday - far more than we did. It’s unusual here before Christmas but not unheard of. The funny thing is that this could be the only snow we get all winter!
DeleteLovely photo, we only had a few flakes, very little snow in our area altogether but we could see it on the hills of Wales across the channel.
ReplyDeleteOur grandchildren near Birmingham had a ‘snow day’ yesterday - a day off school to sledge and throw snowballs - bliss!
