Weaving in lines, stitching in circles

I've now finished the latest piece of weaving in my architecture-inspired series. A detail is shown below. The first, for those who didn't see it and would like to do so, was shown here.

I'm moving towards greater and greater simplicity with these and there will be more to come, definitely.

    1. Thank you very much, Marny.
I work at least a bit every day if I can, though that isn't always possible, and I usually have two or three things on the go at any one time - stitching, drawing, manipulating photos, working in my sketch books, and sometimes weaving. I find the variety helps a lot and one thing feeds into another. To tell the truth, if I'm not actually working, I'm thinking about what I might do next or where things might go.
I think I've been waiting most of my life for the time and space to do this and count myself very lucky that I can now enjoy it all ... and all without the pressure of having to earn a living doing it.

    1. Many thanks, Debbie. This is only a detail and is simpler, and perhaps more successful than the whole. As such it was a very useful lesson. The next piece in the series will be even simpler. Sometimes blogging can be really helpful in promoting a more dispassionate focus on work!

  3. Absolutely you !
Watching/reading your posts this past year, with your architectural photos and drawings in basic black & white now coming together in a fibre piece, has been very interesting to watch ... and being back to weaving has got to be so very satisfying for you.
    Excellent !

    1. Thank you, Sharron. Your comments are always much appreciated. I feel that I've found something very profitable in all this exploration, both in my weaving an in my work directly with my own black and white photos. This latter work I have yet to show much of here as it is still developing but I plan to put it into our group exhibition in November and will show it then in detail.
