A print and good wishes!

This print (completed during the last session of the course I've followed last term at theYard: Artspace) comes to thank you all for visiting my blog in such amazing numbers over the past year. I feel enormous surprise each time I realise how far away so many of you are as you read what I've written. Your comments, encouragement and, especially, your hints and advice are always valued and they enrich and bring context to what I do.

Thank you and good wishes and a Happy New Year to you all. May 2017 be peaceful and gentle wherever you are and may you find your lives deepened by your making and your art.

    1. Thank you, Connie. It's always a pleasure to have your comments and to read your blog. I feel it's a most encouraging blog 'friendship' and I think there should be a special blogosphere word for it!

    1. Very many thanks, Sheila. It is a pleasure to share both textile work and travel via my blog. For me, writing often clarifies what I'm trying to do and helps me make links I would not otherwise make ... so, perhaps, the benefit is two-way!

    2. Oh definitely, I am the same way - I do so love to share. I blog first for myself because I know how much it helps me in just the ways you say, and then hope that what I've put forth will be of some benefit to my readers as well. And that they may also chime in through comments to share views I may not have thought of or information I'm unaware of. Blogging should be a two-way street in more ways than one. :-)

    1. Lovely to find someone in blogland with links to France. I am, as you probably realise, no quilter, but I look far and wide at what is out there. Thank you for commenting and a Happy New Year.

    1. Thank you for commenting - and sorry to be so slow in replying. I really enjoyed this combination of techniques - a simple card block print for the bold red tree and moon / sun, and then the indirect inking up of the fragile vegetation before the whole thing went through the press. I will confess that the tree shape is not original but I was in a hurry to try out this contrast with not much time left in the class so I hope my lack of inspiration will be excused!
