Working with mixed media stitched textiles gives me great pleasure.
As well as the joy in the art of making and exploring, there are the friendships formed as work grows.
How interesting you see the paper as ceramic. I do see what you mean and wish I could have access to clay and a kiln - I've not had that for 20 years, but it was wonderful when I did.
I'd been considering some other surfaces to explore with these shapes together with stitch - metal, for instance but that's way, way outside my skill set!
And you can go down only so many roads as you explore. I have a tendency to get side-tracked and try to follow too many side turnings ... but the thoughts have stored themselves away for the future ...
Oh my goodness, this is spectacular!! And if I may quote Dr. Seuss (!!) Oh, the places you'll go!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! ... I hope this will indeed go places. Now to sort out how ...
DeleteThis is spectacular. Love that black and white!
ReplyDeleteThank you - though I think black and white is rapidly becoming a default response for me ... is that a good idea? I may have to watch myself ...
DeleteIt certainly looks as if you have found a rich seam to mine here. The paper looks like ceramic in these photos. Have fun!
