I like to be doing so my solution is often to play as you suggest. I think I can feel a 'page a day in a sketchbook' project coming along which will make me feel better till a more concrete sense of direction comes along.Charlton Stitcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03052815242463837033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1995249205815458488.post-41128669708304212452016-06-20T14:55:19.842+01:002016-06-20T14:55:19.842+01:00Thanks for your kind encouragement! A break is a great thing but you are so right that you often have to let ideas sink in till a strong one pops up to motivate ... right now, I'm still waiting! I have time tomorrow and will try my other approach which is to organise my sketch book (it sure needs it!). I often find this makes links and provokes ideas that had been bubbling away under the surface. Once they are past I always think that I will learn to wait patiently, playing and trying things until something clicks - but I always have at least a tinge of despair when the dry period comes round once more. There are times for creation and times for replenishment, and both need to be allowed their space. Good luck.Olga Norrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10554469124546960971noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1995249205815458488.post-87110028443037091592016-06-19T17:06:33.647+01:002016-06-19T17:06:33.647+01:00Love these line drawings and see that you've b...Love these line drawings and see that you've been experimenting with negative space in past posts...can't wait to see the weaving. Sometimes you just need to give yourself a break and let the ideas sink in until one seems so strong it motivates you to jump in and get going. I have thoughts of overlaying these grid-like images with others, or of dropping colour into the negative spaces, or of weaving. The latter most probably or perhaps a combination of all ... I must find time to do some experimenting.
